A unique award-winning collection of graded ESOL and literacy readers – written by ESOL learners and volunteers for adult ESOL and literacy learners – with each story available at two or more levels from Entry 1 (A1) up.
Supporting activities for each title have been developed by the LU team and are included with every order, as well as being free to download from each title’s page in the shop.

We are very proud that in June 2016, the Literacy for Active Citizenship readers won the ELTons award for Innovation in learner resources.
The first 20 titles in the Literacy for Active Citizenship series were produced as part of the Active Citizenship and English (ACE) project (part funded by the EU European Integration Fund). Later titles in this series, and the Creative Writing and Photography series, were written by learners from the Communities, Languages and Integration (CLIP) project (part funded by the EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund).
