Tulse Hill Literacy Project

Funded by the Lambeth Community Foundation, this project for speakers of other languages with low level literacy skills across Tulse Hill. TULIP aimed to support participants to better achieve their life potential, support their children’s learning and well-being, and access local services and support through improved literacy. It also aimed to help reduce social and civic isolation and build local awareness and capacity. It ran from February 2018 to February 2020.

Key project statistics

63 local residents and their families attended at least one family workshops or event.

37 local residents benefitted from improved literacy and English language skills through participation on 3 ESOL literacy short courses.

9 volunteers were trained and went on to help over 30 local residents with 1:1 volunteer literacy support.
