A project, funded by the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund through the London Community Foundation, designed to support individuals and communities on the Tulse Hill Estate and strengthen community cohesion. Volunteers were trained to helped to identify and respond to local interests and needs, reduce isolation for marginalised parents and families on the estate, and took an active role in supporting local parents, families and women through outreach, befriending support, events and workshops. It ran from March 2016 to March 2017.
Key project statistics
16 volunteers were trained, going on to organise a series of events such as a Valentine’s family fun day, a MacMillan coffee morning and a festive lunch for senior citizens on Tulse Hill Estate.
As a result, more than 340 people benefitted directly from the project.
