Family Learning funded by Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES)

Learning Unlimited has been working in partnership with Westminster Adult Education Service since 2016 to offer family learning courses and workshops in schools, libraries and other community venues in Westminster.  During this time, we have worked with up to 250 families each year in 24 different venues across the borough.

WAES funding enables Learning Unlimited to run a programme of short courses for parents and intergenerational workshops each year which includes a variety of family learning focussing on themes such as family health and well-being, green issues, arts and crafts and bilingualism.

Our short courses enable parents to better support their children’s learning and development.  Courses include Best Start for Boys, Healthy Families, Supporting my Bilingual Child, Smile, Sleep and Self-confidence and many more.  A full list of Learning Unlimited’s Family Learning courses can be found here.

Our intergenerational family learning workshops offer parents and children an opportunity to work and have fun together in a creative way.  Workshops include Spaghetti Engineering, Pirates Paradise, Space Rockets, Puppets for storytelling and Dinosaur Fun.  We also offer adult-only workshops, providing bite-sized learning opportunities for parents and carers to learn together and share ideas.  These workshops include Rewards and Routines, Keeping Families Safe Online and Mindfulness for FamiliesFor a full list of family learning workshops, visit this page.
