Learning Unlimited has been working in partnership with Southwark Adult Learning Service (SALS) since 2011 to offer family learning courses in schools and children’s centres in Southwark.
Key project statistics
We have worked with up to 180 parents every year since 2011, in 29 different venues across the borough.
The courses Learning Unlimited runs with SALS funding include accredited training such as Functional Maths and City & Guilds training for Teaching Assistants. We also run a programme of non-accredited short courses each year which includes a variety of family learning for parents looking to improve their understanding of how they can support their children’s development. Courses include Helping my Child with Reading/Writing, Best Start for Boys, Healthy Families, Supporting my Bilingual Child, Play Out and many more.
